Move over Michael Campbell! Nine-year-old Kiwi golfer Kota Kagasaki talks to Karen Phelps.
One year ago I didn’t know anything about playing golf. Then one day my Dad took me to the golf course with him. Now I love playing golf so much I can’t wait to practise. Luckily there’s a golf course near my house so I can go there almost every day after school. Before I’m allowed to play golf I have to do my homework. If it’s raining I practise golf in our garage, or I go to the indoor driving range at the golf club. At the very back of the driving range is a sign that says “190 metres” – that’s what I’m aiming for. At the moment the farthest I have hit the golf ball is 180 metres.
