Narrator: The class is at the museum studying American history. All the students walk past a thick black curtain with a sign that says Out of Order. Well everyone that is except for one student . . .
Brian: I wonder what’s behind here. I bet it’s something really good if it has been looked at so much it has worn out!
Mrs Bhamra: Hurry up everyone and keep together.
Narrator: Says the teacher Mrs Bhamra. Brian watches as the rest of the class disappears around the corner. Then when no one can see he quickly steps behind the curtain. You won’t believe what he finds. Behind the curtain is a room full of people that aren’t alive.
Brian: Wow, a room full of models of famous people in history. This is the coolest exhibit in the whole museum. Maybe that’s why they didn’t want us to see it – then history might actually be interesting!
Narrator: Beside each of the models is a button.
Brian: I wonder what will happen if I press the button next to this really tall guy with the beard…
Abraham: Hello Abraham Lincoln’s the name but you can call me Mr President. I was the 16th president of the United States of America from 1861 – 1865.
Brian: Wow that’s really cool! I wonder who this woman standing next to him is…
Rosa: I’m Rosa Parks. On December 1, 1955, I was tired after a long day’s work so I refused to give up my seat on the bus.
Brian: So what - people do that all the time. Boring!
Rosa: At that time there was a law that said African Americans had to give up their seat if a white person wanted to sit down.
Brian: Are you talking to me?
Rosa: I most certainly am young man!
Brian: But you’re not real.
Rosa: Too late to be worrying about that now sonny. Didn’t you read the sign?
